Hubby and I is planning to do Hari Raya open house but today I just got an email asking me to go to Manila for 3 weeks starting Oct 19. The open house was planned on Oct 18. If the job engagement confirmed most like we have to postponed our Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house and do an Aidiladha open house instead.
I’m not sure how am I gonnna survive in Manila. Halal foods would be hard to get and I don’t think I’m gonna be enjoying myself there. At my current age I think I’m sick of traveling for works. I don’t mind traveling for vacation but work, argh …. I’m not sure how am I suppose to continue working as consultant if I have kids. Just imagine leaving your husband and children for 3 weeks or worst case 6 months.
I saw a few colleagues that have hard time juggling work and family times. Now I know why most of my colleagues is either single or divorced. Yes .. I know I should not complain too much and be thankful that I still have a job that let me work from home.
I’m currently submitting my transfer request for the 3rd times. Hopefully it would go through and I don’t have to deal with non-sense office politic. If you happen to know any opening outside there, please please do let me know as I sick and tired working for a bunch of manager that only do postman job… eg forwarding email with FYI or FYA and don’t even read the email.

I was there last year oct. In term of security I didn’t experienced (may be coz I was travelling/walking in a group)… but a friend of mine was mugged by a cab driver while she was on the way to airport. The cab driver just pull out a knife asked for all of her cash and drop her off at the airport.
security in hotels and malls should be ok as u would see policeman with dog at every corner. If you go there you might want to try the hobbit bar (I didn’t managed to go but my colleague told me the place set up was quite nice)
